Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new school year! I’m excited to have your child in my class and look forward to a wonderful year of learning and growth together. Your support at home and ongoing communication are essential to helping make this a successful school year.

We’ll be going over everything you need to know at Student/Parent Orientation Night on Tuesday, August 18 at 7:00 PM. I’ll have a packet ready for you that includes classroom expectations, our daily schedule, grading scale, and a calendar for when poems and book reports will be assigned and due.

Here’s a list of supplies your fifth/sixth grader will need on the first day of school:

Required:

*  Bible (Old and New Testament)

*  Pencils

*  Purple pens (for grading)

*  Loose-leaf paper and a 3-ring binder

*  Highlighters

*  Pencil pouch

*  Black Sharpies (fine point and ultra-fine) for art class

Optional:

*  Index cards (helpful for studying)

*  Folders
